In an incredible response to our inaugural commissioning contest, Apollo received a total of 254 submissions from 30 countries, as well as representation from 36 US states.
CALL FOR SCORES! Our project seeks to identify a composer to be awarded a commission for a new string quartet work. Following an international call for scores, Apollo and its 20x2020 advisors will select a winning composer from the pool of applicant works. Winning composer will be offered a commissioning contract to write a work inspired by Hungarian/Roma folk music and/or similar Eastern European folk idiom(s), to be programmed and premiered on the final concert of our 2014/15 season (Hungarian Folk Lyricism; May 1, 2015).
