Since his grand entrance at age two, Chitravina N Ravikiran has enthralled record audiences (of 45,000-100,000 in some concerts) and won critical acclaim as one of the most inspiring ambassadors of Indian music and culture in the world. The substance and quality of his contributions as instrumentalist, composer, vocalist, guru, author and orator are held in the highest regard. Ravikiran is the inventor of the Award-Winning world music concept Melharmony'. Apart from being a history making achiever with feats like setting to music 1330 verses of ancient Tirukkural in 16 hours, Ravikiran is also a socially involved Musician who has inspired substantial funds through his concerts for charities including Tsunami Relief, Hurricane Katrina, Chennai Floods as well as health, educational and cultural initiatives.
Robin Kesselman was appointed Principal Bass of the Houston Symphony Orchestra by Maestro Andrés OrozcoEstrada in December of 2014. He has performed as Guest Principal Bass with the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, travelled internationally with both the Philadelphia Orchestra and the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and performed with the National, Atlanta, and Baltimore Symphonies.
An avid soloist and chamber musician, Kesselman was a featured soloist at Carnegie’s Zankel Hall as a part of the Curtis Chamber Orchestra’s residency with Krzysztof Penderecki performing his Duo Concertante. He participated as Artist in Residence at the Lake George Music Festival in 2013 and was an invited guest artist at the Laguna Beach Music Festival in 2011. Also, he has collaborated with Brooklyn Rider and Kayhan Kalhor, and soloed with the Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra. Kesselman has attended such summer festivals as the Sarasota Music Festival, the Pacific Music Festival, the Aspen Music Festival and School, and was a prizewinning fellow at the Tanglewood Music Center.
