Is the theremin a folk instrument? We explore the multicolored sound-world of this unique electronic instrument played without physical contact by the performer. Theremin wunderkind Carolina Eyck joins Apollo for her first ever concert in the Bayou City, with an arresting theremin-featuring septet by Czech composer Martinu and new works by Ms. Eyck for theremin and string quartet.
